Your Engagement Session Guide
Welcome! This is your go-to guide for everything you need to know before your engagement session with me. Whether you’re feeling excited, nervous, or a little bit of both—that’s totally normal. I’m here to make this a relaxed and fun experience that feels just like you.
Why Engagement Sessions Matter
These sessions are one of my favourite parts of the wedding journey. Unlike your wedding day, which moves fast and follows a schedule, engagement shoots are slower, more personal, and way more chill. It’s a chance to enjoy each other, snuggle close, and capture your connection in an authentic way.

Picking a Location
The spot we choose sets the tone for your session. If there’s a meaningful place for you (first date, proposal location, family property)—let’s go there! If not, I’ve got a list of favorite and dream locations to share. We’ll chat about what kind of vibe you want (urban, mountain, lake, etc.) and pick the perfect backdrop together.

Timing & Light
Great light makes great photos. The best time to shoot is usually within two hours of sunrise or sunset—when the light is soft and flattering. But if your schedule doesn’t allow for that, no worries! I’ll always find the best available light, rain or shine.

Posing (Yes, I’ve Got You!)
Worried about looking awkward or “not knowing what to do”? You’re not alone—I hear this all the time! My job is to help you feel confident and relaxed. I’ll guide you with easy directions like “snuggle up” or “walk hand-in-hand,” and let you be yourselves.
Movement, touch, and interaction are key—don’t be afraid to flirt, laugh, or get a little handsy. These moments are where the magic happens.
Be Yourselves
Whether you’re romantic, playful, chill, or a mix of everything—lean into it! Your personalities and connection are what make your photos feel real. Just have fun with it, and I’ll take care of the rest.

What to Wear
Here are a few quick tips:
- Stay true to your style. If you're casual people, dress casually. You can also bring a second, dressier outfit for variety.
- Neutrals and earth tones photograph beautifully. Avoid neons or super bright colors, which can reflect on your skin.
- Patterns are great—just keep them subtle and avoid large graphics or clashing prints.
- Coordinate, don’t match. Pick outfits that go well together in tone and style. Think soft greens, warm browns, navy, or burgundy.

Extra Tips
- Make it a date. Play music, hype each other up, and plan something fun after the shoot.
- Eat before you come. Trust me—no one enjoys photos when they’re hangry.
- Have your ring sized. If your ring needs to be sized, have this done before your shoot so we can showcase the ring beautifully!
- If a pose feels off, speak up. I want you to feel good in every shot.
- Rain? No problem. We can reschedule—or dance in the rain if you're into that vibe.
- Share your inspo. Got a Pinterest board or must-have shot list? Send it my way—I love seeing what excites you!
Let’s Make It Amazing
